Buckley Sells Fresno FM to Lotus Communications

Lotus Communications Corp. and Buckley Broadcasting Corp. have closed their transaction with Lotus purchasing Fresno FM radio station KSEQ 97.1, from Buckley Broadcasting.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Joe Bllotta, Buckley President & CEO said, "Our ability to compete in the highly consolidated Fresno market with a free standing FM was a significant reason to entertain and eventually sell KSEQ to Lotus Communications. With this acquisition, Lotus will be even more of an impact player in the Fresno market and they are very excited to have the Buckley station as part of their growing cluster and company.

For over 20 years, we have owned this wonderful facility and want to extend a heartfelt thanks to the many people who have and do contribute to our success."

Lotus owns 32 radio stations nationwide, including KLBN(FM), KKBZ(FM), KHIT(FM) and KGST(AM) in the Fresno market.

Dick Foreman of Richard A. Foreman Associates, Inc. represented Buckley in the transaction.
